Sustainability Day
A successful collaboration
RU Sustainability Day took place on Thursday, October 10th, at Reykjavík University. The event was organized in collaboration with Landsvirkjun and Landsnet and aimed to raise awareness of sustainability in the present and future and the opportunities and challenges facing sustainability issues, including within the energy sector.
During the day, leading companies and organizations in sustainability presented the steps that have been taken within their purview. Students who have completed internships within the companies shared their experiences. At lunchtime, managers and professionals from the energy and sustainability sectors gave short presentations on challenges, innovation, methods and ongoing projects under the title "Harmony in Sustainable Change."
Finally, the work of the RU Research Center for Sustainable Development (SIF) was presented, and the forum's sponsors, Landsnet and Landsvirkjun, together with Sorpa, presented grants to support PhD as well as faculty projects for 2024/2025.
