RU Institute of International and European Law
Reykjavik University‘s Institute of International and European Law (IIEL) conducts research in the fields of public and private international law, EU/EEA law, human rights and comparative law. Moreover, IIEL supports postgraduate students and scholars in undertaking studies in its field of expertise. In addition, IIEL cooperates with scholars at other institutes and the public and private sectors. IIEL organises various events, houses research projects, and offers university teaching and supervision in its fields of interest.
The director of the IIEL is Þórdís Ingadóttir, a professor at RU School of Law ( thi@ru.is ).
Board members are Guðmundur Alfreðsson, a professor at the University of Akureyri and China University of Political Science and Law, Margrét Einarsdóttir, a professor at RU School of Law and Gunnar Þór Petursson, a professor at RU School of Law. Ms. Einarsdóttir is the Chairperson of the Board.
