SEL

The School of Science and Engineering at Reykjavik University operates a Laboratory in Structural Engineering.

SEL is an abbreviation for the center of Structural Engineering and Composites Laboratory. Facilities at the new school building for the center are exemplary. The objective of the establishment of SEL is to promote research in different fields of Structural Engineering and promote further learning.

The Laboratory contains equipment and facilities to support research and teaching in, structural engineering, earthquake engineering, stress analysis, soil mechanics, geology, transportation engineering and surveying, environmental quality, and hydraulics.

A memorandum of understanding was signed on September 3rd, 2012 between SEL and the Earthquake Engineering Research Centre, University of Iceland, regarding cooperation in structural research. This builds upon the cooperation in the past and is a foundation for further strengthening and development of the cooperation between these two partners.
