Hnakkathon / The Fisheries challenge

The Fisheries Challenge (Hnakkathon) – will take place at Reykjavik University 21-25 January. The competition is open to all RU students.

The winning team will travel to the USA, courtesy of Icelandair and the US Embassy in Iceland.

Teams register by sending an email to by  18 January. Participants can form teams of up to 5 people. Participants are strongly encouraged to form teams with students from more than one school.

Hnakkathon is a competition for aspiring experts in environmental issues, marketing, software, technology and logistics to prove their capabilities and talent by developing solutions for the seafood industry. This year's Hnakkathon concerns the global challenge of climate change, following the landmark agreement in Paris last December.

The event is organised in cooperation between Reykjavik University and Fisheries Iceland.
