Reykjavik University signs contract with the University of Technology in Tokyo
Reykjavik University signed an agreement with the Tokyo Institute of Technology in November. The agreement relates to research in computer science and includes both student and faculty exchanges, which can be used both for teaching and research, and cooperation in the form of joint research projects.
"Japan is a leading country in research in many areas of computer science, including in artificial intelligence and the development of robots, and there are clear synergies with the research that is being conducted at Reykjavik University. The same applies to research in theoretical computer science. Hopefully, this is the first step in closer cooperation between the schools. I look forward to the prospect of our two institutions working together in research, since both of these universities are leading education in technology in their home countries.” Stated Dr. Yngvi Björnsson, Dean of the School of Computer Science at Reykjavik University, during the contract signing.
