RU Research most influential according to Times Higher Education
Reykjavik University is among the 350 best universities in the world, and the highest-ranking university in Iceland according to the latest THE ranking
In Times Higher Education (THE) 2022 ranking of the world's best universities, published yesterday, Reykjavík University ranks highest of all universities in research influence, for the third year in a row. The research is assessed on the basis of the number of citations in peer-reviewed scientific articles. RU maintains its position at 301-350 among the world’s best universities, the highest of Icelandic universities on the list.

The Times Higher Education World University Ranking of the world's best universities is one of the most respected lists of its kind and is widely regarded in the evaluation of international universities. It is based on evaluations of a university’s teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income. The impact of research is estimated from information from Elsevier on more than 108 million citations to 14.4 million peer-reviewed academic articles, review articles, books, book chapters, and conference proceedings published over the past five years. THE ratings for citations also take into account the number of university staff, the difference in publication frequency between disciplines and other such factors.
