About VUCA
Professional environments are more than ever VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex og ambiguous). The courses train students to make decisions and react in unexpected and unpredictable situations and reflect real-life nautical scenarios with a high level of complexity and time pressure, where specific skills are to be acquired or reinforced, such as risk and priority management, watchfulness, and team management.
Course 1 - February 11 - 15, 2019
Organised by the Naval Academy. Students go through activities and theoretical approach about collective decision-making and do exercises on decision making (historical naval battle) targeted on a low to high magnitude level of the VUCA criteria.
Course 2 - March 4 - 8, 2019
Organised by the IMT Atlantique Engineering University. The workshop trains students with real-life nautical scenarios, at sea. Students work on their strengths as individuals and as a part of a group through exercises in decision making and leadership training.
