Reykjavik University receives record number of applications

A record high of 2,500 students have applied for Autumn 2014 admission to Reykjavik University. Applications jumped by 11.3% over last year. The Schools of Business and Computer Science both saw record increases.

The biggest department increases  were seen in the school of Computer Science and the School of Business while applications to Iceland School of Energy tripled compared to last year giving Iceland School of Energy the record of highest number of applications to a graduate programme in the history of the university. This year also saw a record number of international applications, in particular to Iceland School of Energy, which has built up a strong reputation in the field of sustainable energy.Afgreiðslutímar í sumar

A large number of applications were also received for the four new interdisciplinary programmes that will be offered for the first time in the fall;
Business Administration with a minor in law, business law, with a minor, Business Administration with a minor in computer science and computer science with a business minor.

This year the University also saw a sharp increase in applications to study at graduate level, showing that more than ever before, students are realising the importance of graduate education for their careers.
