New long-term agreement of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation with Reykjavik University

Tvær konur standa við borð og skrifa undir samningMinister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir, and the President of Reykjavík University, Ragnhildur Helgadóttir, have signed a new service agreement valid for the next five years (2023-2027). The agreement concerns both teaching and research at the university. With this new long-term contract with RU, the ministry supports stability and predictability in the university's activities and increases its possibilities for long-term financing and long-term projects.
"Reykjavik University plays an important role in society, and this is, therefore, a very happy milestone," says Áslaug Arna. "It is essential for the university to reach a long-term contract."

We at Reykjavik University have had an excellent cooperation with the minister, among other things, in this project, and we are thankful for the trust shown to us with the agreement," says Ragnhildur. "The agreement supports the university's activities and its success in research and teaching.

The service agreement aims to ensure continued success in the above areas. It is based mainly on an older contract with the validity period of 2012-2016 between the Ministry and the university, which has been renewed annually since 2017.
