It sells itself! Marketing Icelandic innovation

31.1.2017

Selursigsjalft_facebook_eventMorning conference at Reykjavik University, February 14th, 8-12 am, room V101.

The start-up and innovation scene is Iceland is vibrant and Icelandic entrepreneurs have developed various, notable products and services. Some companies focus on tech solutions while others are developing new products based on Icelandic design and/or Icelandic raw materials. The question is: Do Icelandic start-up companies put enough effort into marketing these new solutions and products? Are they aware of how much investment is needed in marketing to achieve international success? Do they focus too much on the domestic market?

Reykjavik University School of Business and Icelandic Startups are hosting a conference where these questions, and possible answers, will be discussed. Do good products really sell themselves? Or do Icelandic start-up companies have to put more effort into marketing and international branding from the get-go? The speakers are Icelandic and international innovation experts, each bringing to the podium their extensive international marketing know-how.

Keynote speaker is Oliver Luckett, serial entrepreneur and investor who has founded and sold successful US start-ups, such as theAudience and DigiSynd. Luckett is the author of The Social Organism: A Radical Understanding of Social Media to Transform Your Business and Life. He recently relocated to Iceland where he is an active member of the start-up community.

Admission is free and the event is open to all.

Please note that some of the talks will be in English and some in Icelandic.
