The university has been leading in using technology in teaching and has developed one of Iceland's largest and most advanced electronic libraries with excellent access to databases and e-journals in all of RU´s fields of study. A number of courses are taught by foreign scholars and RU takes part in international cooperation as well as being part of the competitive market for students, researchers and research scholarships. Research and research based study programmes (M.Sc., Ph.D.) are conducted in cooperation with some of the most prestigious researchers, research institutes and universities in the world.
