Jose M. Saavedra and his colleagues have published a article where the conclusions are: In both groups (exercise and exercise plus diet), changes were observed in various physical fitness parameters, especially limb speed, agility, aerobic fitness, and muscular strength in absolute and relative terms (which improved in more than one evaluation). Differences between the two programs were observed only in the short term. It was found that long-term longitudinal interventions based on exercise programs with or without diet produce improvements in obese children's physical fitness.More information in:
