Icelandic Center for Trauma Research
The Icelandic Centre for Trauma Research and Practice (ICE-TRE) will aim to provide a valuable service to the Icelandic community in the form of access to, and dissemination of information on psychotraumatology as well as promotion of research in the area. The ICE-TRE will be a collaborative partnership between Reykjavík University and the emergency services in Iceland and thereby connecting academia with emergency services and partners working on trauma, such as mental health providers.
The center will have national and international links, providing teaching and learning opportunities across disciplines providing an umbrella for practitioners and researchers, working locally in Iceland to meet, develop research and effective evidence based practice. The ICE-TRE will have at its heart a unique vision to become a Centre of Excellence, defined as a team, a shared facility or an entity that provides leadership, best practices, research, support and/or training for a focus area.
