Abstract:
This study is conducted with Ruden AS for Kvitebjørn Varme to comprehend the fracture network in the subsurface in Tromsø, Norway to better our understanding for low enthalpy heat storage. The Skattøra Migmatite Complex (SMC) in the study area has potential for heat, however the fracture connectivity for said storage and injection/production is highly complex. The surface data complements the subsurface data allowing for a greater knowledge of geologic trends within the area. Well log interpretation and stimulation of the subsurface geology provided key findings on the fracture network, including fracture connectivity between wells at different depths, clay content and potential limitations of fluid flow, and the difference of productivity between the wells.
