Reykjavik University and RUPA Sign Cooperation Agreement

Reykjavik University and RUPA, the association of doctoral students at RU, have signed a new cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening dialogue, consultation, and support for the University’s doctoral community. Covering the period 2026–2029, the agreement was signed by Dr Ólafur E. Sigurjónsson, Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Industry Relations, and Teddy D’Moi Keen, Chair of RUPA.

The agreement highlights the important role of RUPA as the collective voice of doctoral students within the University. The association works to represent the interests of doctoral students, foster connections among them, and promote a vibrant academic and social environment. Particular emphasis is placed on supporting new doctoral students as they join the University community and on providing a platform for dialogue on matters related to doctoral studies at RU.

The agreement also strengthens collaboration between RUPA and the University’s leadership, ensuring regular consultation on issues concerning doctoral students. The aim is to promote effective information flow, increase doctoral student participation in University life, and support the continued development of doctoral studies at Reykjavik University.

This cooperation marks an important step in reinforcing the framework for doctoral studies at RU and underlines the shared commitment of the University and RUPA to building a strong, active, and supportive doctoral student community.
