Covid rules at RU

Valid until February 2nd 2022, in accordance with the current Rules about Restrictions of Gatherings.

  • A two meter (6.5 foot) distance should be kept between individuals. Pay attention to personal infection prevention, e.g. with regular hand washing.
  • Masks are obligatory if it is not possible to ensure a distance of 2 meters between individuals. For example in class rooms, Málið cafeteria, in elevators, by the entrance during peak hours, etc.
  • The maximum number of students in the same location is 50 people. Reading areas have been divided up accordingly.
  • In classrooms, a maximum of 50 people is allowed. In subjects where more than 49 students attend lectures, a pre-registration system or group division has been implemented to ensure access.
  • Those who experience symptoms of Covid-19 and have not been confirmed free of Covid by screening, should stay at home, at least until a negative screening result is available.
  • It is recommended that students and staff use the health authorities' tracking app.
  • Due to the epidemic, students and staff are allowed to work or study from home, in consultation with teachers or supervisors.
  • If a student or an employee has been abroad, the person in question may not come to the University until the results of the screening are clear.
