The Institute of Biomedical and Neural Engineering

The Institute of Biomedical and Neural Engineering (BNE) was estabilished in December 2013 and aim to coordinates large-scale, multi-disciplinary research initiatives between Reykjavik University, University of Iceland, Landspitali and Med-Tech companies. The BNE institute draws together scientists, medics and engineers from across Iceland to create revolutionary progress in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, tissue engineering and clinical research.

The establishment of the BNE institute aims to strengthen research synergies between members and to create core facilities for research and development. The BNE holds the ambition to become the reference for biomedical engineering research in Iceland.
