The School of Computer Science at Reykjavik University (SCS) performs cutting-edge research in various areas, mainly artificial intelligence, virtual environments, software engineering, databases, natural language processing, human-computer interaction, and theoretical computer science. The School of Computer Science at Reykjavik University is the leading school in Iceland its field of research.

Research centres

Research is mainly carried out within the various research centres, which serve as focal points for both research projects and research-related study programmes in the various different areas. The research labs also give students, even at the undergraduate level, an opportunity to work on various projects supervised by faculty members of the School of Computer Science. All of the research labs collaborate with other universities and/or companies.

Research output

Research output in SCS has increased significantly over the last few years. SCS has formalised a special research policy and a report is published annually about research activity.
