The School of Computer Science (SCS) at Reykjavik University performs cutting-edge research in various areas. Main research areas are artificial intelligence, virtual environments, software engineering, databases, natural language processing, human-computer interaction, and theoretical computer science. The school of Computer Science at Reykjavik University is the leading and biggest school in Iceland in research on Computer Science.
Research is mainly carried out within the various research labs, which serve as focal points for both research projects and research-related study programs in the various different areas. The research labs also give students, even at the undergraduate level, an opportunity to work on various projects supervised by the faculty members of SCS. Moreover, all of the research labs collaborate with other universities and/or companies in industry.
Research output in SCS has increased significantly over the last few years. SCS has formalised a special research policy and publishes annually a report about the research activity in the school as a whole. A list of funded research projects in SCS can be found here .
