Dr. Ágúst Valfells new dean of Reykjavik University´s School of Science and Engineering from August 1st 2018. He takes over the role from Dr. Guðrún Sævarsdóttir who has been dean since 2011.

Ágúst completed a PhD in nuclear engineering from The University of Michigan in 2000 and a degree in mechanical engineering from The University of Iceland in 1993. After completing his phD, Ágúst worked at the University of Maryland and the National Energy Authority. He has been a researcher and teacher at RU since 2005, mainly focusing on energy studies and particle acceleration.
