Covid rules at RU


Valid to 20 October 2021, in accordance with the current Rules about Restrictions of Gatherings.

1. Respect the general one meter distance rule and pay attention to personal infection prevention, e.g. with regular hand washing.

2. In classrooms, the 1 meter distance rule does not apply and masks can be taken off when students have sat down.

3. There is not a general obligation to wear masks at the university, except where and when it is difficult to respect the 1 meter rule, for example in elevators, in Málið cafeteria, by the entrance during peak hours, etc.

4. Those who experience symptoms of Covid-19 and have not been confirmed free of Covid by screening, should stay at home, at least until a negative screening result is available.

5. No more than 500 people may gather in each area of the school.

6. At sit-in events attended by outside parties, a one-meter distance rule may only be deviated from if guests wear a face mask and are registered in a seat with their name, ID number and telephone number. QR codes linked to a registration page can be used for this.

7. It is recommended that students and staff use the health authorities' tracking app.

8. Due to the epidemic, students and staff are allowed to work or study from home, in consultation with teachers or supervisors.

9. If a student or an employee has been abroad, the person in question may not come to the University until the results of the screening are clear.
