Reykjavík University School of Science and Engineering is looking to hire a faculty member to join the Civil Engineering group. We are looking for an individual who can build his or her own research program while also teaching at masters and undergraduate levels. The Civil Engineering group offers masters programs with specialization in construction management, structural design, concrete technology, and transport & urban planning. The ideal candidate should have specialized in one of these areas.

Requirement include a Ph.D. degree in engineering or related fields and research experiance. Experience in design or other applied engineering work is a plus, as is teaching experience.

Position levels can range from Assistant Professor to Professor, depending on the qualifications of the applicant. The position is available immediately, with a starting date preferably no later than August 1st 2010. Salary level is negotiable and relocation assistance is offered.

The School of Science and Engineering at Reykjavik University was established in 2005, and now has about 1000 students and about  70 permanent staff members. Undergraduate instruction was first offered in 2005 and starting in 2008 the school has offered masters programs in several fields of engineering. Plans are under way to establish doctoral programs as well. The school has ties with several leading foreign universities, which will result in visiting lecturers and student exchanges.
