Reykjavik University (RU) is seeking a new dean for the School of Computer Science.
The School of Computer Science at RU (http://www.reykjavikuniversity.is/computer-science/) has approximately 440 students at the undergraduate, masters and doctorate levels. The School is home to several strong research groups and the main research areas are artificial intelligence, combinatorics, databases, human-computer interaction, natural language processing, software engineering, theoretical computer science and virtual environments.
The objective of the School of Computer Science is to provide students with a challenging education in an ambitious and creative environment. Our emphasis is on internationally acknowledged research, excellence and innovation in teaching and strong ties with business and industry. The school offers an international working environment, with several international faculty and post-doctoral researchers, and active exchange agreements with over 40 universities outside Iceland.
We are looking for a dean with demonstrated leadership qualities, committed to advancing the school with ambition and strength. The dean has direct responsibility for academic, administrative and fiscal operations of the School of Computer Science. The dean is part of the executive team at RU and reports to the president of the university.
Requirements:
- PhD degree in computer science or related fields.
- Extensive experience in teaching and research.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
