REQUESTING SPECIAL ASSISTANCE IN FINAL EXAMS

To receive special assistance during final exams, students must submit a diagnosis/medical certificate from a specialist (psychologist, psychiatrist, or other professional who specialises in diagnosing dyslexia) to a student councelor at RU within a specific deadline. In the fall semester, the last date for such submissions is 10 October, and in the spring semester, the date is 10 March. The same notice applies to exams not taken during regular examination periods. After a student has submitted a diagnosis/medical certificate, an agreement is made between the student and RU which is signed by the student, a student councelor, and the Dean. The agreement needs to be renewed each fall. If the reasons for the need for special assistance are not specific learning difficulties/dyslexia, the student in question needs to submit a new medical certificate before final exams in both the fall and spring semesters with information which shows that the student is working through his or her difficulties with a specialist.

If a student does not submit a diagnosis/medical certificate, special assistance can not be granted.
