Training and instructions
LIRU offers diverse training in the use of the electronic library for RU students and staff. The training has the aim of providing students with practical abilities in acquiring and handling sources. For that purpose, special emphasis is placed on collaborating with instructors and on connecting LIRU training with students' project work in courses.
- Introduction for all newly enrolled students at RU. The introductions are interdisciplinary and have the aim of introducing students to the library and its services. Special emphasis is placed on the library system, Gegnir
- First-year students. Training within courses in collaboration with departments. Introduction of key databases in the respective study field, and a presentation of the basics of search technique
- Third-year students. Review and training regarding final assignments in collaboration with departments. Search technique, specialised databases in the respective study field, citing sources, etc.
- Training within selected courses in accordance with instructors' wishes
- Training as needed in the web based reference management tools EndNote Web and Zotero
