To locate material in the RU library, follow the links on the navigation bar to the right.

Gegnir – Library System (OPAC). Using Gegnir you can find information on books and journals at LIRU and other Icelandic libraries. When you log in to Gegnir, you can have an overview of your loans, extend loans, and place items on hold

Journals A-Z. If you are looking for a specific journal or journal article, visit Journals A-Z. The list contains all journals purchased by the library; printed and electronic, domestic and foreign

Databases. Visit Databases to search for material. Access varies and depends on agreements which the library has with publishers. Access can be tied to a password, to other RU computers (RU net), only to computers in the library Ofanleiti, or to all computers in Iceland. Note that subscribed databases have an accompanying symbol which indicates the access type:
   [+] = access from RU net (IP numbers) and remote access
   [*] = password, get usernames and passwords at library@ru.is
   [#] = country-wide access, all computers in Iceland
   [~] = access only from RU net (IP numbers)
   [!] = access only from computers in the library
Databases are purchased for all of RU's fields of study, and their content is diverse. Select databases which are appropriate for your search. Help in searching for sources is usually available on the Web pages of databases. If you need further assistance, turn to employees at the library reception desk or either contact the “Ask a Librarian” for chat or book an appointment with our instruction librarian for more detailed and personal assistance
