RU graduates generally possess good work experience. Students at the School of Engineering have, for example, often received formal training in specific trades before beginning their studies. Other full-time students at RU have also often gained experience working professionally before embarking on their studies. Students pursuing part-time studies are  usually working for companies and institutions and therefore have considerable work experience before beginning at RU.
Most RU students also work during the summer and alongside their studies in fields connected to their work at RU, all of which is valuable to them when they begin full-time work after graduation. Specific examples regarding students' professional experience include that full-time students in undergraduate studies at the School of Business have an average of two years' work experience and part-time students have an average of 12 years' experience in the job market at the start of their studies.
