BSc in Computer Science -Research Based

Third year is available in English for exchange students. 

Students must complete 180 ECTS credits towards a BSc degree in computer science. The programme is organized with emphasis on the theoretical aspects of computer science and is suitable for those that have a good mathematical background from high school and want to keep as many options open for graduate study.

Overview

Research-based computer science provides sound knowledge of computer science and places emphasis on theoretical aspects of computer science. Within computer science one can also choose professional emphasis lines, e.g. in Artificial Intelligence, Software Development, Web Programming and Computer Interface Design, Theoretical Computer Science and Computer Game Development.

Admission 

Matriculation examination from an Icelandic secondary school, Preliminary Study Certificate from RU or comparable examinations. Applications should have a solid background in mathematics, science, Icelandic and English. Applicants, who do not fulfill the admission requirements are encouraged to meet these requirements e.g. through the Preliminary Studies at RU.
