RU Centre for Research on Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Reykjavik University Centre for Research on Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CRIE) has built an international reputation in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship, including research on the role of design in service innovation, experience-based innovation and the founding and growth of new ventures.

Since 2005 CRIE has conducted a longitudinal survey-based research project and has successfully followed about 200 new Icelandic ventures from the time of start-up with yearly surveys. CRIE has a great deal of expertise in survey development and data collection including longitudinal panel data collection and simultaneous data collection in several countries and languages.

Current research projects include the following:

SVVT: Foundation, growth and performance of technology-based firms

StageIt: Transforming SMEs into successful experience stagers (funded by the FP7 Marie Curie IAPP programme)

Black Box: Exploring the relationship between aesthetic design and performance: Opening the black box of aesthetic design (funded by the Icelandic Research Fund)
