Well-attended University day at RU

On University Day all the universities in Iceland presented their programmes along with introductions from Reykjavik University, University of Iceland and Iceland Academy of the Arts. There was also a programme at Háskólabíó.

Students and teachers introduced Reykjavik University programmes and answered questions in the main lobby called the Sun. There was also presentations of undergraduate and master degree programs held in the classrooms and counsellors gave out interest tests. In the Sun current students shared the projects they have worked on in their programs such as air vehicles, virtual worlds, video games, robot and three dimensional printers.

On the stage in the Sun Calmus Automata performed in collaboration with Reykjavik University and Iceland Academy of the Arts. This is a revolutionary innovation where the software composes and plays music in real time with the aid of artificial intelligence.The band Vök played a few songs and the children did experiments with Vísinda-Villa. In the classrooms there were programmes offered for children in LEGO and programming with business schemes.
