About the Faculty

The role of the RU School of Law is to create and disseminate knowledge in an environment that encourages initiative, critical thinking and scientific procedures to enhance the quality of life and competitiveness in the society.

RU School of Law is a pioneer in the modernisation of legal studies in Iceland and plans to lead schools of law in the Nordic countries with quality and progressive studies which makes the School a first choice for legal studies in Iceland. RU School of Law emphasises an active and substantial connection to the economic life, e.g. with participation of specialists in teaching, traineeships and an interplay between academic studies and practical projects. This connection plays part in better preparing the students for participation in the economic life after graduation.
