Application Deadlines

Completed applications, including supporting documents, must be submitted before the respective application deadline for consideration. Applications are assessed on a rolling basis. The Iceland School of Energy aims to deliver admission decisions within six weeks of receiving completed applications with accompanying documents.

Studies begin in the autumn semester. Admissions open in the first week of October of each year.

Applicants from the EU / EEA

  • Early Action Deadline: 1 February 
  • Regular Decision Deadline: 30 April 

Applicants from non-EU/ EEA Countries

  • Early Action Deadline: 30 November 
  • Regular Decision Deadline: 1 February 
  • Late Applications: April 30th for students from the following countries

About 'Early Action' and 'Regular Decision' 

Applications submitted before the Early Action Deadline receive responses quicker and are given more time to weigh their options than applications submitted during the Regular Decision period. 

Priority is given to Early Action Applicants over Regular Decision Applicants. Program placements are given on a rolling basis as well.
