Interlibrary loans
LIRU can order books and photocopies of articles from journals which are not available in the library. These services are especially intended for RU faculty and for students preparing final thesis. RU faculty are not charged for the service and five articles pr. semester are without charge for students in master studies.
Please note that these services do not extend to books stored in libraries in the capital area.
You can send ILL requests :
- via these forms (ARTICLE – BOOK).
- by an e-mail to library@ru.is
When requesting an article, specify the full title of the respective journal or a standardised abbreviation, ISSN number, author, article title, year, volume, issue, and page number(s). When requesting books, specify the author/editor, title, ISBN number, place of publication, and year of publication.

LIRU provides other Icelandic university libraries with material via interlibrary loans if the material in question is not in use at RU.
