BSc Course Structure
 

The study program for the B.Sc. degree in mathematics consists of 180 ECTS credits which are usually taken durinn three academic years. Those credits are divided into three distinct blocks:

  • 72 ECTS credits come from obligatory courses in mathematics (and one course in computer science)
  • 48 ECTS credits come from elective courses in mathematics
  • 60 ECTS credits come from free elective courses from any department of the university (the students can for example chose to take courses in computer science, engineering, business or more mathematics)

The course Introduction to Mathematics is taught for 8 weeks during the first semester, afterwards the students take two courses, Algebra and Discrete Mathetics for another 7 weeks. Alongside these courses the student take the course Programming I, which lasts for the whole 15 weeks of the semester.

Following the first semester the courses follow the standard schedule of the University, where the lectures last for 15 weeks during the fall semester and 12+3 weeks during the spring semester (the last three weeks of the spring semester being reserved for short, practical of interdisciplinary courses).

The students can take the part of the programme at foreign universities. Semesters no. 4, 5 and 6 are especially well suited for this purpose. The students can choose to write a final project at the end of the study program.
