CCP mynd nemendurSoftware systems are among the largest and most complex of systems, in particular when dependability is of utmost importance.

The aim of the software engineering program at Reykjvaik University is to educate employees who will apply engineering methods for designing and developing such systems.

The program gives students a firm basis in computer science, mathematics, and core engineering subjects. Moreover, emphasis is put on project management and quality control.



Admission requirements


Applicants need to have completed a matriculation examination or a comparable education. In evaluating applications, the factors looked at are: grades on matriculation examination (especially in Icelandic and mathematics), further education, work experience, management experience, and participation in extracurricular activities. Applicants are therefore encouraged to include everything they feel may help their application. In particular, it is important that applicants state the reasons for their interest in the programme and what their future plans are. Official transcripts of upper secondary school diplomas shall accompany applications.

Internships in the US

FraeunhoferAs part of their studies students in Software Engineering may apply for internships in the US at the University of Maryland (Frauenhofer Center for Experimental Software Engineering). Frauenhofer does cutting-edge research in close collaboration with industry and organisations such as NASA and the FDA. The internships are paid and usually students go for six months at a time.
