Students are expected to have finished a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science (or a related area), or a B.A. degree in Linguistics.

Applications are submitted electronically. The application deadline is at the end of May. Each application must, however, be accompanied by the following documentation, which must be sent by regular mail:

• An official transcript of the undergraduate programme. A statement of the ranking of the applicant with respect to other graduates from the programme is useful, where available.
• Two letters of recommendation from faculty members (or others), who are familiar with the academic abilities of the applicant.
• A “statement of purpose” which describes the future plans of the applicant, and how the M.Sc. programme at Reykjavik University can help the applicant reach his or her goals.
• Any additional information that can aid in the assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the applicant.
• For students from areas other than Computer Science or Linguistics: Detailed course listings from the undergraduate programme. These students may be required to complete preparatory classes from the undergraduate programme at Reykjavik University, before joining the M.Sc. programme or during it.
