The Schools of Reykjavik University

Reykjavik University bridges the gap between business and technology, and reasoning and creativity with studies in its five Schools: School of Science and Engineering, School of Health and Education, School of Business, School of Computer Science, and School of Law.

 

school of business

The School of Business offers undergraduate programmes and graduate programmes in international business, accounting and auditing, and finance. Furthermore, the School offers an intensive MBA programme which is a general management and business programme at the graduate level intended for individuals with an undergraduate degree or considerable work experience who wish to strengthen their management and leadership skills.

School of computer science

The School of Computer Science (SCS) at Reykjavik University collaborates actively with international universities and institutions, both in teaching and research.  Moreover, SCS collaborates with the local industry, e.g. in the form of final projects. Thus, students from our program are well prepared for work in industry or further study in graduate programs.The School of Computer Science focuses on research and education in computer science, software engineering and mathematics.

The School of Law offers ambitious and modern undergraduate and graduate programmes in legal studies with the aim of graduating outstanding lawyers who are capable of becoming leaders in their fields. One of the main characteristics of graduate studies at the School of Law is the diverse choice of emphases and courses of study. This provides students with the opportunity to specialise within the legal profession and to integrate their studies with other disciplines.

The School of Science and Engineering is the largest of its kind in Iceland and offers diverse courses of study in relevant areas in addition to preliminary studies. Students at the School can choose from, for example, technology studies, industrial studies, biomedical engineering, industrial engineering, engineering management, and financial engineering.

open university

The Open University serves the business community with a diverse range of courses featuring cutting-edge knowledge from Iceland and abroad. An emphasis is placed on effective and efficient teaching methods. More than 400 courses are listed in the course catalogue of the Open University, and more than 200 instructors are involved in teaching – these are academics from RU, instructors from international partner universities, as well as specialists from the Icelandic business community.
